Job description:
As a member of the educational and therapeutic team, the teacher assistant provides comprehensive direct care and instructional support for students with autism spectrum disorders.
Responsibilities include:
Provide one-to-one supplemental academic and therapeutic instruction to students according to their individualized educational plan.
Adapt classroom activities, assignments, and/or materials as assigned by supervising therapist for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing student objectives.
Provide ongoing communication regarding student progress or issues with therapists, teachers, support staff, and the director. Also, maintain daily communication between home and school.
Support students across all environments, including community outings and inclusion settings when needed.
Follow behavioral management programs as developed by the team and school policies.
Record and maintain academic instruction and behavioral data.
Assist student with self-help skills: meals, toileting, grooming.
Participate in staff training, staff meetings, and case review meetings
Job Requirements:
High school diploma
Experience working with individuals with autism is preferred.
Must pass a background check.
Must be willing to take a PPD skin test and/or submit proof of a current (last 60 days) Negative TB result.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, running, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. Employees must be able to lift more than 25 pounds.

Position Summary
Provide specialized instruction in an individualized program at a private therapeutic day school for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Emphasis is on enhancing social/communication skills, positive behavior intervention, developing academic and daily living skills, and increasing access to opportunities in the community.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
Special Education Teaching Certificate.
Experience teaching children with Autism preferred.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and supervise students’ Individual Educational Plans (IEP) and behavior management plans.
Effectively work with a large team of professionals to coordinate services, assess abilities, and problem-solve behavioral strategies for students.
Implement evidence-based strategies for students with Autism.
Train staff in the use of student behavior management and effective instructional strategies for students with autism.
Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress.
Participate in staff development training that focuses on working with students with Autism.
Must have no physical limitations. The candidate must be able to lift and be mobile.
He/She must participate in the CPI model of physical restraint training.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Knowledge of autism and proven skill in implementing evidence-based instruction and behavior management of students with autism.
Knowledge of Special Education principles, theories, strategies, testing, etc.
Knowledge of the IEP process and effective goal writing.
Knowledge of and skill in implementing differentiated instruction based on student data and need.
Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, administrators,
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff and outside therapists.
Good organizational skills and flexibility.
Position is full-time for the 20024-25 academic school year.

This position is for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year beginning on 8/14/24.
The Music Therapist provides comprehensive music therapy services for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ages 4 to 21 years, and is responsible for planning individualized treatment plans that incorporate autism-specific research-based strategies and therapies.
The Music Therapist provides individual and small group music therapy instruction to students with a wide range of abilities while participating in interdisciplinary treatment planning and collaborating with student treatment teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
Observe, assess, and place students in the appropriate delivery of service.
Provide treatment, including program planning, consultation, and education to the student and family.
Collaborate with team members, parents, and district professionals involved in the education and treatment of the student.
Provide individual, and group music therapy classes.
Implement autism-specific evidence-based strategies.
Maintain professional documentation including session notes, out-come based data, and quarterly reports.
Effectively communicate with team members and parents as necessary via email, phone, and/or meetings.
Participates in team meetings and professional development sessions.
Work with program assistants to model strategies, discuss student progress, and assess student needs.
Plan and implement remote learning strategies when applicable.
Supervise clinical students and graduate-level interns from university programs as needed.
Maintains licensure according to state and federal regulations.
Follow and maintain company health and safety protocol.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Knowledge of relevant music therapy treatment strategies and protocols.
Knowledge of equipment and material uses and maintenance for music therapy.
Ability to creatively implement music therapy principles in a fun and engaging way for students with a wide range of abilities.
Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Knowledge of evidence-based autism strategies
Knowledge of sensory and behavioral strategies related to autism spectrum disorders.
Ability to effectively communicate treatment, progress, and evaluations to team members, parents, and district personnel.
Knowledge of relevant accreditation and certification requirements.
Proficient in computer use for documentation and communication.
Strong written, communication, and organizational skills.
Annual Performance Review
Participate in the review process as directed by the program director.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy
Appropriate certification in Music Therapy administered by the Professional Accreditation Board, CBMT.
